چکیده

This work consider the problem of flow control using incentive strategy in Stackelberg game theory. The network model employed here is that users route their flows from a common source to a common destination node, each of them trying to optimize its individual performance objective. First, the existing Stackelberg routing strategy is briefly introduced. And then, the linear Stackelberg incentive strategies are presented for both single-follower and multi-follower systems, by which the leader (manager) force the followers (the noncooperative users) adopt the team optimal flow configuration as their reply strategies. It is shown that the incentive strategy improves the existing Stackelberg routing strategy. A numerical example is given to illustrate the results of the strategy.

Design of Incentive Compatible Mechanisms for Stackelberg Problems

This paper takes the first steps towards designing incentive compatible mechanisms for hierarchical decision making problems involving selfish agents. We call these Stackelberg problems. These are problems where the decisions or actions in successive layers of the hierarchy are taken in a sequential way while decisions or actions within each layer are taken in a simultaneous manner. There are m...

Stackelberg Routing on Horizontal Queueing Networks

In order to address inefficiencies of Nash equilibria for horizontal queuing congestion networks, we study the Stackelberg routing game on parallel networks: assuming a coordinator has control over a fraction of the flow, what is a good way of routing that compliant flow so that the induced Nash equilibrium is closer to the social optimum than the initial Nash equilibrium? We study Stackelberg ...

Dilemma in two game structures for a closed-loop supply chain under the influence of government incentives

The government organizations grant incentives to promote green product consumption, improve green product quality, boost remanufacturing activities, etc. through various policies. The objective of this study is to highlight pros and cons of two incentive policies, namely (1) incentive on manufacturer’s R&D investment and (2) direct incentive to consumer based on greening level of the product on...

Incentive Mechanisms for Motivating Mobile Data Offloading in Heterogeneous Networks: A Salary-Plus-Bonus Approach

In this paper, a salary-plus-bonus incentive mechanism is proposed to motivate WiFi Access Points (APs) to provide data offloading service for mobile network operators (MNOs). Under the proposed salary-plus-bonus scheme, WiFi APs are rewarded not only based on offloaded data volume but also based on the quality of their offloading service. The interactions between WiFi APs and the MNO under thi...

An approach to discrete-time incentive feedback Stackelberg games

A substantial effort has been devoted to various incentive Stackelberg solution concepts. Most of these concepts work well in the sense that the leader can get his desired solution in the end. Yet, most incentive strategies developed thus far include either the follower’s control, which may not be realistic in practice, or delays in the state, which makes stabilization more difficult to achieve...
